CLIENT: Signature Homes PROJECT: National Conference ROLE: Design DELIVERABLES: Conference Materials: Banners, Bags, Lanyards, T-shirts, Certificates, Presentations, etc
Every year Signature Homes hold a national conference – each one with a strong theme woven through.
Signature wanted to represent ‘part of the team’. We simplified this down to one word, ‘belonging’ as it seemed to encompass the message. After further brainstorming with the client, ‘Tribe’ was formed.
We designed a custom hei matau, which was used on all conference material. The Koru in the middle represents a person and the ones around it represent others coming around and creating the feeling of belonging, or tribe.
Bone necklaces were hand-crafted with this symbol and gifted to each attendee. After the Maori dancers performed a pōwhiri, everyone had to take their necklaces from the box and place it around their neck – a symbol of their tribe.
I designed a range of collateral for this conference, including goodies bags, lanyards, certificates, banners, dinner vouchers and much more. There were also presentations created for each speaker and an awards presentation to announce winners. The video shown here was used for announcing each winner.
The main background used throughout was reminiscent of greenstone, which traditionally, Maori have embraced its spiritual powers to evoke strength and prosperity.
